What to Expect from Your Rhinoplasty Process

Consultation
During your consultation with Dr. Timothy Janiga, you can discuss your goals and expectations for your rhinoplasty. It’s also a chance for Dr. Janiga to assess your anatomy, recommend the best techniques, and project what you can expect for an outcome. Surgery
For your surgical procedure, you will be put to sleep by a board-certified anesthesiologist and an incision is made under the nose. This incision allows the underlying structures to be manipulated, corrected, and altered according to your goals. This can include correction of a deviated septum, enhancing or reducing the bridge or hump of the nose, and adjusting the tip of the nose. Overall, this process can take between one to three hours, depending on how extensive your procedure is.
Aftercare and Recovery
After your rhinoplasty, you will likely wear a bandage and nasal splint so that the nose is supported and can heal properly. You should expect to have some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort until the nose is fully healed— the timeframe for which can vary from person-to-person.
