Pulsed Dye Skin Laser
What type of laser is the Pulse Dye Laser?
A Pulse Dye Laser, or Pulsed Dye Laser, is one that uses a liquid dye to target the hemoglobin in your blood. By targeting hemoglobin with a Pulse Dye Laser, the heat is transferred from the laser to the blood vessels allowing them to be destroyed. The goal of this laser is to remove blood vessels from the skin.
What can I expect during treatment with the Pulse Dye Laser?
You will sign consent for the laser procedure and receive post laser instructions. Topical numbing medication is not usually required for this laser. It feels like a quick burst of heat during treatment.
How long does the Pulse Dye Laser therapy take in your Reno offices?
Pulse Dye Laser of the facial area takes 15-30 minutes depending on the number and thickness of the blood vessels to treat.
What can I expect after the treatment with the Pulse Dye Laser?
After treatment with the Pulse Dye Laser most people do not experience any pain or discomfort. There is usually some redness and swelling for 1-6 hours after treatment. Bruising is rare, but is possible with this laser.
What is the downtime with Pulse Dye Laser?
Most patients can return to work the next day.
