Breast Lift FAQs

What is a Breast Lift?

A breast lift helps offset the effects of age, gravity, breast implant removal, breastfeeding or massive weight loss. A breast lift involves removing excess skin and reshaping the breast tissue to create a more youthful appearance.

How is this procedure performed?

A breast lift is performed at a Reno outpatient surgery center under general anesthesia. It involves an incision around the areola and, depending on the extent of lift needed, may require an anchor shaped incision below the areola and horizontally across the underside of each breast.
Silicone or saline implants can be included and are often placed either under the muscle or breast gland to improve the overall breast shape, depending on your desired results and personal situation.

How long will a breast lift procedure take?

A breast lift usually takes one to two hours with another two hours of recovery time before leaving the surgery center.

How much recovery time should I expect?

Swelling and minimal bruising may last up to three weeks. Return to work can be expected within five to seven days. Full results are expected within three to six months.

What are the typical results that I can expect?

With a breast lift from Reno Janiga MDs, you can expect more youthful and shapely breasts. During your private one-on-one consultation with Dr. Timothy Janiga, you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns or questions you have, see before and after photos of results, and develop a realistic expectation of your personal outcome for this procedure.

Do you perform breast lifts in your Reno/Tahoe office?

Yes. We evaluate and treat patients who desire a breast lift. Initial consultation length varies, but is usually not more than 15-30 minutes. The actual procedure will take longer and will be discussed in detail when your procedure is scheduled.
