Jeuveau® has been shown to improve the look of frown lines for three to four months, at which point patients are encouraged to receive repeat treatments in order to maintain their results. While Jeuveau® is like brands like Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, some patients report that it acts faster in them than other procedures. Jeuveau results in a very natural look that smooths out frown lines, vertical lines, glabellar lines, and crow’s feet.
Before receiving Jeuveau® injections, it’s important to avoid over-the-counter medicines or supplements that may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Patients should inform their healthcare provider of any allergic reactions, medical conditions, or current medications, including other botulinum toxin injections.
Avoid worsening skin irritation in the treatment area before your appointment. During your consultation, your provider will review a personalized treatment plan and explain how botulinum toxin injections work to block nerve signals and relax targeted muscle activity.
Anesthesia is not required for Jeuveau®. Instead, the planned injection site will be prepared. Depending on your aesthetic goals, multiple injections may be required to obtain the desired results. After your Jeuveau® treatment session, patients may notice slight bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. It’s important to avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area. Since no anesthesia is required, most patients can resume normal activities immediately. Recovery is minimal, and many patients return to work or social activities the same day. Following all post-care instructions helps minimize side effects and possible risks, such as skin infection, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.
Results from Jeuveau® injections typically appear within five to seven days and last approximately three to four months. As muscle activity gradually returns, repeat treatments may be recommended to maintain results. Your provider will discuss possible side effects.
Although all of the standard neuromodulators are botulinum tox A including Dysport®, Botox®, Xeomin, Daxxify®, and Jeuveau® there are reasons that patients may choose one over the other. Each product has a slightly different diffusion radius which means that some of the products stay better right where you put them, and others spread out a little bit more which may be a desired effect for catching some of those fine lines around the eyes. The different neuromodulators may “kick in” faster or slower than others in a particular patient. Some Jeuveau® patients report they have inhibition as early as 2 days. Additionally, there is some cost difference among the products with Jeuveau® being less expensive than some of the others. As it may work the same for a patient, they may choose Jeuveau® solely for the cost benefit.
