What is Crescent Pexy?
Often with age or breastfeeding, breasts can take on an elongated or flat appearance. One great way to counter this is with a crescent pexy, which is a type of mastopexy or “breast lift.” The crescent pexy is designed to fight the effects of gravity, elevating the breasts back to their original position.
A crescent pexy will lift the breast but will not enlarge them. It is common for a crescent pexy and a breast augmentation to be performed simultaneously to achieve a lift and enlargement at the same time.
A crescent pexy is performed in an outpatient surgery center under general anesthesia. It involves a crescent-shaped incision above the nipple, an island of skin is removed and the areola is repositioned.
Though this procedure may be performed on its own, it is usually combined with breast augmentation surgery for complete results.
This procedure takes one hour with another hour for recovery before going home.
Recovery & Results
Swelling and minimal bruising may last up to three weeks. Return to work can be expected within five to seven days. Full results are expected within three months.
You will notice results right away, with the breasts having been elevated. Signs of improvement will continue to appear as the incisions and scarring heal.
