Liposuction

Lipo, or Liposuction, removes stubborn fatty deposits that do not disappear despite exercise and dietary efforts. What is Lipo / Liposuction?

Lipo, or Liposuction, removes stubborn fatty deposits that do not disappear despite exercise and dietary efforts. Patients who have discrete areas of fatty deposits make the best candidates for liposuction. This targeted fat-removing procedure can help shape areas of your body for a slimming and toning effect that contributes to the overall body image.

What Liposuction is NOT

Liposuction is NOT a weight loss solution. The best weight loss and fitness solution is daily exercise coupled with a low-fat, nutritious diet. If those two things don’t help you shed those last few pounds, then liposuction may be for you. I may recommend against this procedure for patients who are not already committed to healthy living.

I can remove fat from the body, but unless a patient has made serious lifestyle changes, the weight will almost always come right back to where it was before the procedure. It is absolutely essential to exercise and eat healthy to maintain the results achieved from liposuction.

How is the Liposuction procedure performed?

This procedure can be performed in our Reno office for small areas, or in our Reno surgery center for large areas under general anesthetic.

How long does the Lipo procedure take?

This procedure takes one to two hours with one hour of recovery time before leaving the surgery center (or our office).

How much recovery time should I expect after Liposuction?

Full results are expected within three weeks to three months. There can be a small amount of swelling that can take up to six months to fully resolve. Dr. Timothy Janiga encourages patients to wear compression garments for six weeks following the procedure.

What are the typical Liposuction results?

Results vary, but the loss of inches, slimming and toning are the goals of the procedure. Contact us today to schedule your personal consultation with Dr. Timothy Janiga. He will go through the procedure, discuss your concerns, answer any questions you have, show you before and after photos, and give you a realistic expectation of your personal outcome.

Do you perform Liposuction in your Reno/Tahoe office?

Yes. We evaluate and treat patients who desire Liposuction. Initial consultation length varies, but is usually not more than 15-30 minutes. The actual procedure will take longer and will be discussed in detail when your procedure is scheduled.
