Jeuveau is a quick procedure that takes less than 30 minutes to perform in our Reno office. While most patients do not find this treatment to be painful, a topical numbing cream can be applied if desired. After cleansing the face, Dr. Janiga or one of our associates will administer multiple small injections using fine needles for precise targeting into the muscles. Once the treatment is complete, patients can immediately return to work or their daily routine.
Because Jeuveau is a minimally invasive treatment, there is virtually no recovery time. Patients should avoid pressing on the face, facial massage, or strenuous exercise for about 4 hours after the procedure, but can resume all other normal activities immediately. Some swelling and redness may occur at the injection sites but will resolve within 20 or so minutes, allowing you to return straight to work. Although rare, bruising is possible from the injections and usually resolves in a few days.
Results from Jeuveau injections do not appear instantly but begin to emerge within a few days as the neuromodulator takes full effect. Most patients see a noticeable reduction in visible facial lines within two to four days, with continued improvement up to a week after treatment. Like other botulinum toxin products, results typically last three to four months, after which lines may gradually return as muscle movement resumes. Regular maintenance sessions are often scheduled to preserve smoothness over time, and some patients find that consistent treatments help them maintain their desired look with progressively refined results.
