What are Fat Injections?
When patients seek to increase volume in specific areas of the body — including the face, hands, breasts or buttocks — they often turn to fat injections from Janiga MDs. Fat injections make use of excess fat harvested from the patient’s own body and are a safe, natural alternative to other fillers. Fat injections produce long-lasting, natural-looking results.
Dr. Timothy Janiga performs this outpatient surgical procedure using general anesthesia. Once an area of the body has been selected for harvesting, the fat is removed through the process of liposuction. After harvesting, the fat is processed for transfer, it is then loaded into syringes to be used during the injection process. Dr. Janiga preps the recipient area and the fat is transferred in small amounts until the desired result is achieved.
Dr. Janiga has found this procedure to be effective for both men and women as early as their mid-30s for certain areas that may begin showing signs of natural aging and volume loss. Fat injections return missing volume and restore a more youthful look.
Procedure times vary, though fat transfer generally take between two and three hours. This procedure can be performed in office for smaller areas, and for larger areas will be performed at an outpatient surgery center.
Recovery & Results
Swelling and bruising can last up to two weeks, with most patients being able to return to work within that time. You can expect full results within four weeks.
Once you’ve fully recovered, you will see a fuller appearance in the treated area of the body, including improved shape and skin tone.
