What is miraDry®?
The phrase, “Never let them see you sweat” takes on a whole new meaning when you sweat profusely, regardless of the weather. For many men, excessive underarm sweating can be embarrassing. This takes its toll on your interactions with people at work, parties and while traveling.
Using heat-based energy in a controlled manner, miraDry® is a permanent and effective treatment for excessive sweating in men. As a result of the procedure, the amount of sweat and odor output from men’s underarm area is greatly reduced. miraDry® eliminates underarm sweat and odor glands with immediate and long-lasting results.
Men who undergo miraDry® typically see a permanent 85 percent reduction in sweat after the first procedure. Most over-the-counter deodorants only work temporarily to reduce sweat by 20 percent, making miraDry® the most effective option out there. Men who have this procedure performed can sometimes discontinue using antiperspirants and deodorants all together as sweating and odor are reduced.
The Procedure
There is very little discomfort with the miraDry® procedure and near immediate results. A grid is placed in your armpits followed by local anesthesia. Each armpit takes about 45 minutes to complete. After the miraDry® procedure, the area is cleaned and you’re free to return home or to work. It’s usually safe to return to exercise within a week of the procedure.
