Bellafill® injections require a test spot before injections in order to confirm that you are not allergic to this medication. Once the test area is done, most people will choose to do topical numbing medication for this procedure for about 20-30 minutes to minimize discomfort. Once the topical numbing medication is removed, the skin is cleaned, and Bellafill injections are administered with fine needles directly into the targeted acne scarring areas, generally taking only 15–30 additional minutes. The formula itself contains lidocaine to help enhance comfort during the injections. Most men can resume regular activities shortly after, with specific aftercare recommendations provided by your injector.
Patients may experience mild temporary effects like slight swelling, redness, or bruising around the injection sites, but these symptoms will resolve within a few days.
