What is Breast Implant Removal?
Implants are designed to enhance the look of your breasts and give you an extra boost in self-confidence. But sometimes, women who have undergone implant procedures find that it’s not for them and seek to return to their original look. For these cases, there is the breast implant removal option offered by Janiga MDs. The aim of this procedure is simple: to return you to a smaller breast size and shape.
We perform breast implant removal at a Reno outpatient surgery center with the patient under general anesthesia. It generally involves accessing the current breast implant through the previously placed incision and removal of the implant. All steps are taken to avoid further scarring by using the initial incision, when possible.
In some cases a breast lift may also be necessary to restore the previous shape of the breast, depending on the implant size, length of time the implants were in place and condition of the implant and surrounding tissue.
This procedure normally takes one hour in surgery, with another hour of recovery time before leaving the surgery center.
Recovery & Results
Some swelling and minimal bruising can be expected and may, in some cases, last up to three weeks. You can return to work within a few days after your breast implant exchange. Full results are expected within three weeks to three months.
