Get More Bang For Your Buck With Combined Cosmetic Procedures

Peanut butter and jelly. Jeans and t-shirts. Ross and Rachel. Some things in life are just meant to go together. So, why not extend this same philosophy to your cosmetic procedures? The truth is, there are quite a few procedures that work really well together – even ones you might not have considered before. Let’s look at these dynamic duos and examine how you can minimize downtime and maximize results by combining procedures.

Cosmetic Surgery

Mommy Makeover

Far and away, the most common combined procedure we perform at Janiga MDs is the mommy makeover. The mommy makeover involves breast augmentation or lift combined with a tummy tuck.  These two body procedures work together nicely because women often experience changes in these areas of the body simultaneously. Performing both procedures together lets you recover and improve at the same time.

Facelift With Blepharoplasty

Facelifts and blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) work well together because they each involve similar types and amounts of facial swelling and bruising. Because the recoveries are so similar, we often package these two procedures together for patients. We find that patients who have enough laxity of the jowl and neck area to require a facelift often have laxity around the eyes, as well. Combining these procedures allows for improvement of the entire face all at once.

Tummy Tuck + Lipo

Another popular combination: tummy tuck with liposuction of the flank, back or inner thigh. When combined, these procedures offer overall improvement to the surrounding area while removing any excess tissue.

There are also a few procedures that you might not have previously considered combining. Let’s look at these a little closer.

Nose Reshaping + Breast Enhancement

While seemingly dissimilar, rhinoplasty and breast augmentation go very well together for a few reasons. Firstly, both procedures are common in women between 21-35. Secondly, the surgical position is identical in both cases. Finally, the downtime for each procedure is roughly three weeks. By combining these two procedures, you can get back to exercising, working and generally enjoying life much quicker than if performed separately.

Lipo With Brazilian Butt Lift

Simply put, a Brazilian butt lift is when fat is harvested from the waist, back or flanks and placed into the buttocks to improve overall shape and contour. This procedure naturally includes both liposuction as well as fat grafting, and the recovery is about two to three weeks. Because we’re already performing lipo for the butt lift, we can also arrange to remove it from other problem areas as needed.

Lip Lift and Facial Fat Grafting

A combination that’s particularly attractive to a more mature patient involves lip lifts and facial fat grafting. Often with age, the upper lip can become turned down, giving a flat appearance. To repair this, we make an incision under the nose, removing a piece of skin in order to restore the lip’s natural shape. Fat grafting can be performed on the buttocks, breasts or the face. In this case, we would combine a lip lift with facial fat grafting. This works particularly well on those who have lost volume in their faces over time. As with nose reshaping and breast enhancement, these two procedures mix so well because of the demographic, the surgical position and the recovery time, which is about two weeks. With fat grafting, we usually liposuction a small bit of fat from the tummy or inner thigh at the same time, making these two perfect procedures to have performed simultaneously.
