What is Laser Resurfacing?
With advances in technology, cosmetic services can now help you achieve a younger, more radiant appearance. By targeting specific types of cells in the skin, resurfacing can significantly repair aged or sun-damaged skin.
Resurfacing can be done with a laser or with radio-frequency. Laser Resurfacing delivers CO2 or erbium to the deep layers of the skin to stimulate changes while radio-frequency resurfacing uses radio-frequency technology to achieve the desired result. At Janiga MDs, we offer all three types of resurfacing and these technologies can be tailored and combined for your type of skin, desired recovery time, and optimal outcomes. Janiga MDs is also excited to offer ThreeForMe™, which targets three different skin problems with one treatment.
Resurfacing procedures are used to treat fine to moderate wrinkles, acne scarring, brown spots, stretch marks, crepe skin, and they do tighten the skin. They are often used on the face, neck and chest.
3 For Me helps improve three common skin conditions – wrinkles, sun damage & facial veins – all at once.
Resurfacing Laser with
Dr. Jennifer Janiga
Laser resurfacing is a safe, easy, and effective way to combat imperfections on your skin.
At Janiga MDs, Dr. Timothy Janiga specializes in plastic surgery and Dr. Jennifer Janiga specializes in dermatology, giving their practice a unique, comprehensive perspective on their patients’ cosmetic needs in the Reno, Nevada area.
The Procedure
Prior to your procedure, your face will be cleaned thoroughly and the area of treatment is numbed using a topical anesthetic.
Resurfacing treatments typically take between 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the size of the targeted region and the level of intensity you and Dr. Janiga agree upon.
Recovery and Results
Resurfacing can be done at variable settings to change the desired effect. Lower settings allow for one to two days of down time, while higher settings mean you’ll need about five to seven days to recover.
Dr. Janiga advises patients to avoid sun exposure for a few weeks after the procedure. Dr. Janiga will instruct you on how to best care for you skin during the healing process. Once fully recovered, patients can expect to appear more youthful with smoother and tighter skin.
