What is Otoplasty?
Patients wishing to have their ears lay more flatly against the head have found a lot of success with otoplasty procedures at Janiga MDs.
Otoplasty, also commonly known as “ear pinning,” is a procedure performed on children and adults who would like to have their ears lay flatter or who would like the shape of the ears changed.

The Procedure
Dr. Timothy Janiga performs otoplasty using local anesthesia in our Reno office. In most cases, an incision is made behind the ear, allowing for it to be folded, reshaped or have cartilage removed to reposition the ear. The incisions are then sutured shut.
This procedure takes about an hour and requires very little down time.
