What is Voluma?
Wrinkles and lines aren’t the only signs of aging. Over time, our faces start to lose volume, resulting in skin – particularly cheeks – that just don’t have the same youthful look as before. This is often referred to by medical professionals as “age-related midface volume loss.”
As part of the Juvederm® family, Voluma is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler of its kind to be FDA approved for the purpose of restoring volume back to the midface and cheekbone area. Derived from a naturally occurring component of the human skin, Voluma is both a safe and convenient way of turning back the clock.
As a dermal filler, Juvéderm® Voluma must be injected under the skin. While there is a mild amount of discomfort associated with the procedure, most is alleviated by the topical medication applied 30 minutes prior to beginning.
Voluma appointment lengths may vary depending on the size and number of treated areas. Most appointments should last no longer than 60-90 minutes.
Voluma is the first FDA-approved filler for cheekbones and the mid-face.
