What is Microneedling?
At Janiga MDs we use Morpheus for microneedling treatments as it’s the most reputable and effective of the devices available. The Morpheus has 12 very tiny needles to make microscopic channels into the epidermis and the top portion of the dermis. The depth of the needle penetration can be tailored for patient comfort and recovery requirements. The tiny channels are placed in the skin to stimulate collagen, smooth fine lines, improve texture, and even improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
Am I a Good Candidate for Microneedling?
Microneedling is safe for all skin types and textures. If you have loose skin around your face or neck, you are very likely a good candidate for this treatment. It is especially good for those who have texture changes like from acne scarring on their face, and can help smooth out fine lines.
The Procedure
For Morpheus microneedling treatments, we apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area for a few minutes in order to improve comfort during the procedure. After you are sufficiently numb, the numbing medication is removed, and the skin is cleansed quickly with an antiseptic to remove any debris or bacteria prior to the treatment. Next, we will pass the Morpheus over the various areas discussed previously. All in all, the treatment takes less than an hour and you can return to your regular activities immediately afterwards.
Recovery & Results
After your microneedling session, your skin will be slightly pink similar to a sunburn and may develop a small amount of swelling. Your skin will likely feel tight, but there is no downtime with this procedure, you can go about your normal activities. It is likely, however, that you would may want to avoid significant social situations for 2-3 days while your skin settles after treatment.
