What is Bellafill?

Bellafill is a dermal filler designed to treat smile lines and acne scars. It is made up of tiny, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres suspended in a smooth collagen gel. Once Bellafill is injected, the collagen gel immediately begins to reduce smile lines, and your body uses the microspheres to create a foundation onto which your own natural collagen can develop over time. This collagen adds volume to acne scars and wrinkles for natural-looking results.

Who is a Candidate?

Men and women who are looking for more permanent results to treat their smile lines and acne scars should consider Bellafill, but those who have allergies to bovine collagen or with chronic skin infections should not receive Bellafill injections. Overall, the best way to determine if this filler is right for you is through a consultation with our nurse practitioner Darci Page, NP.

"Dr. Jen is the best! I have been going to her office for 6 years now and can’t see myself going to anyone else." - DK

The Procedure

Bellafill contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to help make treatment as comfortable as possible. During treatment, Bellafill is injected into the treatment area(s) using a fine, small needle. This process usually only takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. While some patients can see great results with just one treatment session,  some individuals (especially when treating acne scars) may require two to three treatment sessions for optimal results.

Results & Recovery

Following a Bellafill treatment, patients may experience mild redness, swelling, and sensitivity, which will resolve with time. Some patients may also feel a slight firmness in the treatment area, which is temporary. Bellafill is FDA-approved to smooth smile lines and acne scars for up to five years.
