What is Dysport®?
Although nothing can completely stop the process of aging, some great strides have been made in treating lines and wrinkles on the face. One of these advancements has come in the form of Dysport®, a brand of the botulinum toxin that’s similar to BOTOX®. Dysport® as compared with BOTOX® may vary in dosage, time of onset and duration of results. Each patient is different and may prefer one product over the other.

For cosmetic purposes, Dysport® is FDA-approved to last about three to four months. It temporarily inhibits muscle contractions in the area where it is placed, such as the frown lines between the eyes.
Dysport® is usually performed on men and women in their 30s – 70s to treat or prevent wrinkles of the face. If initiated early, Dysport® may be able to prevent lines from forming.
When used correctly, Dysport® will result in a very natural look, temporarily diminishing wrinkles and relaxing the facial muscles.
The Procedure
Anesthesia is not required with Dysport®. Instead, the area will be prepared for injection. Depending on your desired results, multiple injections may be required. Once the Dysport® is injected, it takes two to seven days for muscles to be inhibited and to see full results. Dysport® generally last for approximately three to four months.
Recovery & Results
Patients may experience a small pinpoint bruise at the site of injection. This is not common but can happen. When injected, Dysport® takes about 20 minutes to be absorbed, so you will see small areas of swelling where the injections were placed for that 20 minutes. We ask you to refrain from vigorous physical activity for four hours after the procedure.
