Results from CoolSculpting are seen as quickly as 3 weeks but full results often take up to 3 months.  There is not a way to make this happen faster as it takes time for your body to break down the fat cells and dispose of them. If you have a time sensitive event then you should plan your CoolSculpting treatments to be completed 60-90 days prior to that event to see your full result.

Itching is one of the side effects that can occur for a few days to a week after treatment. Don’t be alarmed – this is a normal occurrence.  If itching or redness persists beyond a couple of weeks, consult with your treatment provider.

A good baseline for men is to drink between 8-10 eight ounce glasses of water per day, but if you’re physically active or regularly consume caffeinated drinks like soda or coffee, you should plan to drink at least one glass of water for every caffeinated beverage you have in addition to the normal 8-10.

For men, CoolSculpting is usually  performed on the torso – the chest, abdomen, and back.  It can, however, also be used on arms and thighs, and has now been cleared by the FDA to use under the chin which is a very popular area for men to sculpt the jawline.

You’re welcome to have a glass of wine or beer within 24 hours following your procedure, but we do advise that you keep it to a minimum for the 3 days following treatment.

CoolSculpting results are permanent as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle consisting of diet and exercise after treatment. The treated fat cells cannot grow back but excess fat in the surrounding tissue can accumulate with weight gain.

Side effects like numbness dissipate gradually, most is gone within a few hours of the procedure, but some cases can have numbness for a few weeks.

Before your appointment, avoid any medications or supplements that could thin the blood, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, omega-3s, Excedrin, and fish oil. This can increase the chance of bruising.   If you are prescribed these medications for a medical problem by your provider please discuss with Dr. Janiga and associates to make a specific plan for you.

It is  advised that you stay hydrated prior to and following treatment. Hydration can assist in the healing process, as well as help you feel better post-procedure.

The most common treatment areas of the abdomen, back, and thighs, but CoolSculpting® Elite can also be used on the arms,  under the chin, an other areas also. The best treatment for you varies depending on your needs, so it’s best to have a consult  to know what’s best for you.

It’s hard to know for sure exactly how many treatments you will need, but each treatment does reduce the fat pad treated by 25% and the area can be treated more than once if you would like more reduction. Full results are usually seen at 90 days, but retreatment can occur as soon as 60 days if desired.
