An Arm Lift Surgery Can Help Eliminate Flabby Arms

Your upper arms CAN look lean and firm again.

Some people can become very self conscious about having excess skin and fat hanging from their upper arms. They always wear long sleeves, even when a tank-top or sleeveless shirt would feel so much cooler in the hot Northern Nevada Sun.

Over time, as we grow older or lose weight, the upper arms can seem to be a major repository for unsightly sagging skin and cellulite. Hiding on your upper arms, making the backs look lumpy and dimpled, cellulite is caused by deposits of fat which adhere to fibrous connective chords attached to muscles.   Not impossible to lose with proper diet and the right exercises, but still very difficult.

Fortunately, there is a simple solution: An Arm Lift.

Dr. Timothy Janiga suggests the procedure be performed in our Reno outpatient surgery center, under general anesthetic. An incision along the body side of the upper arm, which he uses to remove excess skin and fatty tissues. The incision placement is designed to be as invisible as possible, depending on the amount of excess skin to be removed. He might also use liposuction as an adjunct to the lift, allowing him to sculpt your arms in the manner you and he have discussed.

The results can be remarkable.

But not overnight: You can probably return to work within 5-7 days, depending on what you do for a living. And expect the post-surgical swelling and bruising to last for about a month. It helps if you wear a compression garment on the upper arms for 6 weeks after your procedure. The end results are expected within 9-12 months.

That means that if you want to be completely ready to bare your arms for Summer 2013, right now is the best time to come discuss your options.
