Mini-Facelift / In-Office Facelift

The In-Office Facelift, often called a Mini-Facelift or Weekend Facelift, can help reverse the effects of age, gravity, and/or weight loss by removing excess skin in the face and neck and tightening the deeper structures to give a more youthful but natural appearance; all from within our office.

In-Office or Mini-Facelift FAQs

What is an In-Office or Mini-Facelift?

One of the early signs of facial aging begins in the mid and lower face. Prominent nasolabial folds (laugh lines) and heaviness in the lower face are some of the common signs of facial aging that give people a deflated appearance.

An In-Office Facelift, often called a Mini-Facelift or Weekend Facelift, is performed in the office under local anesthesia and is a less involved version of a standard facelift. The In-Office or Mini-Facelift can help reverse the effects of age, gravity, and/or weight loss by removing excess skin in the face and neck and tightens the deeper structures to give a more youthful but natural appearance. Laser resurfacing is often performed in conjunction with the In-Office Facelift.

How is Mini-Facelift procedure performed?

The Mini-Facelift is typically performed in our clinic procedure room, at our office in Reno, using local anesthesia. Topical numbing medication is used to help anesthetize the skin prior to injecting the local anesthetic. Incisions are made in front of the ear and around the earlobe for the standard Mini-Facelift and extend back into the posterior hairline for the Extended In-Office Facelift. The excess skin and fat of the face and neck is elevated, tightened and repositioned into a more youthful position.

A face lift will reduce the sagging appearance of face and neck features, diminish deep creases on the face and neck, and create a more defined jaw and neckline. Dr. Timothy Janiga prides himself on the fact that you will look better, younger, and more refreshed in a natural way.

Not all patients are candidates for the In-Office or Mini-Facelift. Dr. Timothy Janiga will determine if you are an appropriate candidate during your personal consultation.

How long does a Mini-Facelift take?

The procedure takes approximately one hour for the standard In-Office Lift and 1.5 hours for the extended version. Most patients are able to go home immediately following the procedure.

How much recovery time should I expect after a Mini-Facelift?

Depending on your profession and need for personal discretion, you may need to allow 7 to 14 days before returning to work. Patients are instructed to remove their head dressing the first postoperative day and shower if they so desire. Stitches are typically removed 7-10 days after surgery. Make-up can be worn after one week. Full results are expected within 3 months.

What are the typical results that I can expect after a Mini-Facelift?

Results may vary; however, a more defined face, neck, and jaw line will be created which will give you a more youthful and rested appearance. Firmer, smoother skin along with a decrease in deep wrinkles can be expected after the swelling goes down. During your consultation with Dr. Timothy Janiga, he will give you a realistic expectation of your personal outcome.

Do you perform Mini-Facelift procedures in your Reno/Tahoe office?

Yes. We evaluate and treat patients who desire a Mini-Facelift. Initial consultation length varies, but is usually not more than 15-30 minutes. The actual procedure will take longer and will be discussed in detail when your procedure is scheduled.
