Dealing with acne can be a battle and the scars left behind from this battle can wreck havoc on your once beautiful skin. The good news, is there are several ways to regain your smooth skin once again.

Once your acne is under control you can begin to treat the scarring. Usually for acne scars, I recommend an acne scar laser treatment using ablative and non-ablative fractional resurfacing with some subcision and fillers if necessary for the deeper scarring.
Acne scar laser treatment helps to blend the scarring with the tissue that is normal around it as well as building collagen and remodel the scars. Subscision helps when scars are tacked down to the undersurface of the skin and then released.
For raised scarring on the skin, which can differ from typical acne scarring, I usually start with a series of mild kenalog injections to flatten the scarring and then a series of resurfacing lasers to blend the scars.
Kenalog is an anti-inflammatory medicine that is used to treat multiple things, but in this case, we use one of the side effects of the medication (skin thinning) to decrease the thickness of the scar and try to flatten it. After that, the resurfacing lasers help to blended within normal skin around by remodeling the collagen.
Acne scars are highly treatable and not something you have to live with forever. You won the battle against acne, now let us help you regain your smooth, beautiful skin with a custom acne scar removal plan.
