Juvéderm® Volbella XC is an FDA-approved dermal filler from the Juvéderm family of hyaluronic acid fillers (HA fillers). Before receiving Volbella injections, Dr. Janiga will assess the patient’s medical history and discuss their desired results in detail to determine whether Volbella, other fillers, or a combination of fillers is the best option for their treatment. Most patients can safely receive injectable fillers, but may need to wait if they have an active acne breakout or other skin injuries. Patients should avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications like aspirin and stay hydrated in the days leading up to their Volbella treatment.
On the day of your appointment, Dr. Jennifer Janiga or her associates will apply a topical numbing medication to minimize discomfort and let it set for at least 30 minutes. A fine needle will be used to inject Juvéderm Volbella under the skin. A topical anesthetic, as well as the lidocaine found within the solution, can also mitigate any discomfort associated with the procedure. In total, the treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and requires little to no downtime.
Recovery from Juvéderm Volbella is minimal, allowing you to return to work and everyday activities immediately after your treatment. Some mild redness, tenderness, bruising, and swelling are common following the procedure, but should subside within one week. Avoid rubbing, itching, or picking at the injection sites for the first 48 hours.
